In Ukraine,
we know what happens
when power fears expression.
They take your words.
Then your books.
Then your land.
But still—
we write.
We write on walls
shaken by missiles.
We write on phones
under sirens.
We write on hearts
that do not break
even when buildings do.
Our poetry has craters.
It has shrapnel.
It has loss
and unstoppable hope.
You can ban a poem.
But you cannot silence
the people who need it.
America—
if they come for your poets,
you must be ready
to fight.
